A Quiet Place: Day One 2024
Michael Sarnoski (of 'Pig') directs the third film in the franchise, from a story he co-wrote with John Krasinski. Lupita Nyong'o plays a terminally ill hospice patient caught in Manhattan on the day the sound-hunting creatures arrive; Joseph Quinn is the stranger she forges a bond with, plus a cat. Sean calls it a surprise and one of the year's best: a contained, melancholy survival story about dying that he found excruciatingly effective for its first 45 minutes, dinged only by a sentimental late song choice. Her goal is a slice of pizza from Patsy's in Harlem. Djimon Hounsou returns from Part II as the connective tissue to the island.
