Get Out 2017
Peele's directorial debut, out about ten days and past $75 million when he sat down. He outlined it from 2008 to 2012, wrote the script around 2014, and shot it in late 2015 and early 2016 with Blumhouse and QC Entertainment. It started as a story about being the outsider at a party before becoming a horror movie about the African-American experience. He built in five twists on purpose and wrote several endings, including darker ones where the arriving cops end things badly, before settling on Chris escaping.
