A black-and-white TV documentary about the staging of a play, whose color film-within is set in a 1955 desert town during a Junior Stargazer convention interrupted by an alien; Jason Schwartzman and Scarlett Johansson lead a cast that runs from Tom Hanks to Jeff Goldblum. Sean was moved and calls it a bold experiment he hasn't fully locked into; Amanda read it as a synthesis and a 'summit'; Adam admired the engineering but felt the emotions were engineered too, and parked it in Anderson's 'vast accomplished middle.'
